About the Place
Located in the heart of San Diego at 3667 India St, Blue Water Seafood Market & Grill offers a vibrant culinary experience that speaks to seafood lovers everywhere. With its charming setup where patrons can walk up, order, and savor the freshest catch of the day, this establishment exudes a casual yet inviting atmosphere. As customers take their seats, they can bask in the lively environment that quickly fills with fellow seafood enthusiasts.
First impressions matter, and at Blue Water, the commitment to freshness is evident. Diners rave about the quality of the ingredients, with many noting that the seafood is always expertly prepared and bursting with flavor. Popular menu items include the renowned fish tacos that have garnered a loyal following. One patron, Shawn Sheng, encapsulated this sentiment by declaring the taco as the "biggest, tastiest, messiest, and most incredible taco" he’s ever encountered.
The service, while primarily counter-style, is noted for its attentiveness. Guests appreciate how staff members are quick to bring orders to the table, ensuring that the focus remains on the dining experience. Many reviews highlight the efficiency of the staff, with food arriving promptly even during peak hours. Ted Mitchell commended the "exception service" and mentioned how the appetizers, like a chilled shrimp cocktail, arrive hot and fresh.
Of course, part of the Blue Water experience is the community feel. There’s a camaraderie among diners as they share a common appreciation for quality seafood. Eugene Jung shared that after arriving and getting a table, he watched as the dining room swiftly filled up with eager patrons, all drawn by the tantalizing aromas wafting from the kitchen. The friendliness of the staff enhances this dynamic, making every visit feel like a delightful event.
While some guests noted a wait, it seems that the delicious food more than compensates for the time spent in line. Janet L remarked that the calamari and salmon were particularly memorable, supporting the idea that each dish tells a story of coastal dining delight. For those willing to embrace a bit of a wait, the culinary rewards are plentiful.
No visit would be complete without discussing the charm of Blue Water's problematic dishes. While most offerings are met with rave reviews, flavors can vary as pointed out by Patch U who found the clam chowder a tad too salty. However, the overwhelming consensus is that this establishment is a must-visit for anyone looking to indulge in some of the best seafood San Diego has to offer.
In conclusion, Blue Water Seafood Market & Grill stands out not only for its fresh and flavorful dishes but also for its laid-back vibe and attentive service. For anyone strolling through San Diego, this seafood haven promises a genuinely satisfying experience that's worth queuing for.
“ First meal in San Diego was not fish tacos but 100% delicious! (Duane got fish tacos and they looked amazing and were giant) I’ve been to this place before a long time ago and it was just as delicious as I remembered it. Walk up, order, sit and food is brought to you…. The freshest ingredients! We timed it just right because within 10 minutes of us sitting down, the dining room basically filled up! Calamari, Clam Chowder, Shrimp Nachos (was a special) and Onion Rings Definitely check them out if you’re in the area! ”
“ Exception service. Excellent food. We arrived at 510. Minimal wait 5 min. Counter service and they bring the food to your table. By 530 the line was out the door. Totally worth the wait. Appetizers came out quick and were hot. Shrimp cocktail was nicely chilled with a great cocktail sauce. Great dinner. ”
“ Came here to try the award winning Tack Taco, and it was worth it. The lineup was long, waited around 45 minutes to order and get a table. The track taco was the biggest, tastiest, messiest, and most incredible taco I have ever had. All of the seafood is super fresh and delicious. The staff are very friendly and appoint you a table while waiting in line. There is lots of street parking nearby for free. ”
“ My family grabbed lunch here after landing at the airport. It was less than 10 minutes from the airport. Parking space was limited but we were able to find paid street parking right in front of the restaurant. It’s a self-service restaurant. You order at the counter and they will bring out food for you. A server brought us two high chairs and she was very friendly. Food came out in about 10 minutes. I highly recommend their special, award winning Taco. At a first bite, it tasted rich and fresh. Shrimp in the taco was big and juicy. Clam chouder soup was pretty good too. We ordered the soup in a bread bowl. The bread bowl had garlic taste and it went well with the soup. Lastly, we ordered fish n chips. Fish was very fresh but batter was too thick. It came out with waffle fries, which were very crispy. Overall, it was a great experience to start my San Diego trip. I would recommend this place to anyone and will come back for their taco! ”
“ The food was really delicious and well worth the lengthy line. We loved everything we ordered. Once you pay and get your food, your pretty much on your own. They are so busy that they don't have much time to follow up on already seated customers or refill your beverage. I would recommend this place for the awesome food, just be prepared to wait for it. ”
